To begin with, there are three main international airports in Moscow, which form the Moscow aviation hub. It is Sheremetyevo International Airport situated in the northwest of Moscow, at the distance of 29 kilometers (or 19 miles) of the center of the city. Besides that, there is Domodedovo International Airport situated in the southeast of Moscow at the distance of 42 kilometers (or 26 miles) of the center of the city. Nowadays the latter one is the biggest airport in Moscow and in Russia as well. In addition to these two large international airports there is also Vnukovo International Airport situated in the southwest of Moscow at the distance of 28 kilometers (or 17 miles) of the center of the city. You can get each of these three airports using “Aeroexpress” airport rail link. It won’t take you more than half an hour to reach the center of the city from any airport by it. Of course, you can take a taxi but it’s much more expensive and there are great traffic jams in Moscow…
